Most racism is perpetrated unconsciously, because you've experienced certain levels of trauma in your life that are unresolved. There is a deep connection between your unresolved trauma and unconscious racism. This is called "white-centering", "white-tears" and "white fragility". You are told that to be anti-racist is to ignore those feelings, but they are the very reason why you're reacting in unconsciously racist ways. Those feelings need to be explored or the cycle of shame and guilt will repeat itself.

What are your Racist Signature™ Patterns?

Your racist signature patterns are the 42 racist ways that you could react when you are exposed to racial triggers. These can be in the form of denial, intellectualization, saviorism, perfectionism, projection, rejecting your whiteness, or anti-racism leadership. The majority of these examples are forms of performative allyship. Performative allyship is taught by both white and (POC) mainstream educators. Performative allyship is an inauthentic way to develop interracial relationships.
